ZETA and Dan Smith Architects win AIA San Francisco’s 2010 Energy and Sustainability Design award for Lancaster NZE Townhome

The jury was impressed by the comprehensive design of a very high performance building envelope, efficient mechanical systems, and renewable energy production to achieve a modest-sized live/work space rated to perform at net zero energy. Coupling this level of energy performance with rigorous selection and specification of materials for resource-efficiency and good indoor air quality makes this an exemplary model for multi-family housing.

ZETA installs Plant & Seed lab at the historic Presidio
On April 14, ZETA installed the Seed and Plant Lab at the Presidio Native Plant Nursery for the Golden Gate National Parks Conservancy, the Presidio Trust and the National Park Service. The lab features high-efficiency integrated mechanical and photovoltaic systems modeled for NZE performance, in addition to a grey water system. This installation will be the first phase of a larger campus at the Presidio Stewardship Center. The crane installation of the lab took under one hour.
