Residential Education Center, Palo Alto, CA

ZETA is working on the design/engineering and potential fabrication of a residential education center serving the Stanford University community. The Center will provide a residential community for visiting scholars, faculty, and students from Stanford. The two-story center, above a full height thermal basement, includes living quarters, meeting rooms, communal kitchen facilities and social areas, in addition to ample deck area as an extension of the educational space. ZETA anticipates commencing fabrication in 4Q09.

Environmental Education Campus, CA

ZETA evaluated designs for the fabrication of a net zero energy environmental education campus, located in a park setting in northern California. The campus includes 18 lodging and educational facilities, bringing high performance building technologies, sustainable materials, affordable precision building, and attractive cabin design to one of California's most scenic destinations. The project targets a minimum of LEED Silver certification, including solar power provided by a nearby solar array. ZETA anticipates commencing fabrication in 2Q11.

Affordable Net Zero Energy Homeownership, San Francisco, CA

A public agency retained ZETA to provide architectural design, building science, and structural engineering consultation for off-site construction of a 32-unit affordable inner city housing development, targeted to low- and moderate income homebuyers. ZETA worked collaboratively with the agency's developer and architect to redesign the project for greater design and energy efficiency, in addition to achieving net zero energy homes. The project included two- to three-story townhomes and flats over podium parking, with exterior stairs, decks, and overhangs.
